I produce quite a lot of architectural walk thru's and have been looking to include animated people in the environments (have tried poser but not great)so have not found an easy way to do this....until archvisions RCP people!!!... but not so fast it is not compatible with macs!!! Does anyone have any knowledge of a similar product that would be compatible??

I have used axyz people in a recent production. They are quite lowpoly,
but very convincing if they are not right in front of the camera.
They are 3D and they move.
Motion data is provided as mdd files for two collections so far.
There are many more that are fbx rigged.
I can't comment on the usability on the mac so far, since my
macbook refuses to run the mdplug or the fbx loader.

here's the link:

cool, thanks. So now just have to look into importing fbx riggs etc.....I see you are in Padeerborn, I was there last year doing some design work at the army base.
Thanks again, got some research to do!

Also if you're open to a 2D solution, you can create planes with animated textures and utilize a product called People N Motion (http://www.marlinstudios.com/products/people/people.htm).

I've seen walkthroughs with this product and it can work very well. They're alpha'd TGA video loops of people standing, talking, walking.
