I think that's the additional components bit of the box. Ino is no longer with NewTek, perhaps.

I dont believe he is working for Newtek anymore.

IK Boost(ed), then.

:hey:

Shame, a very talented guy.... Good luck, in whatever you do.

He's just done a water simulator for dstorm/lightwave.

so.... Ino owns IKB and 8's dynamics?

why !??? :(

it seems he is very talented!

I think you will find that a lot of developers are contracted by Newtek, and often only work when required, usually when ramping up for a new release.
So perhaps when LW10 is in full swing INO may do some more development.

But meanwhile he's had a long association with DStorm, and the recent FluidPack it would be nice to see him develop a HV4.0 to render FluidPack particles better.. :)

Im pretty sure Ino sold that stuff to Newtek back in the LW8 days.
Now that hes not working for NT gotta wonder what theyll do to replace or upgrade dynamics, IKB etc.

But David Vrba is still at Newtek it seems, he did the code of impact (RigidBody solver by Dynamic-Realities) so he should be able to upgrade and refine the dynamics engine in LW.

and since when does chuck code?

Correct me if I'm wrong, (and I'm sure he will) but doesn't Chuck have some coding experience from the early Amiga days (not LW) but in general, maybe Imagine? Cannot remember the specifics. ;)

Chuck manages the development team, I think, so it's not unexpected that he's in that list. After all, I don't think Marvin codes either. ;) Jay is, of course, God so should probably appear twice :D

agreed, spokesmen shouldnt be in the engineering box, that doesnt make any sense.

His name is there in BIG type though - not forgotten!

why !??? :(

Doesn't mean anythng if you can't communicate your ideas or have an innovator to do it for you.

It might have paid off for NT to invest in fixing that... (easy for me to say sitting here :D )

It's always been the same way through history... the greatest inventors couldn't sell their ideas, then someone with Marketing savvy steals them, sells them, takes the credit and gets rich. (i'm not accusing NT of having much marketing savvy btw ;P )

But then again, Ino's probably just happier working in his own secret lab :)

So good luck and thank you Ino-San if you are out there somewhere!

wavk, He's a part of the engineering team, maybe he's not a Cog, maybe he's 'just' a bearing or a bushing, but still a part of the team... and every part of a team has to have responsibility and credit...

LOL! every LightWave thread should end with a statement just like that :D

If I was part of the dev team for 8, I'd ask to have my name removed too!

Omeone, you have no idea what the people that worked on 8 had to deal with, when they came on board.
Also some of the features in 9 only became possible through all the under the hood work that went into 8.
I somewhat find that statement offensive.
