Hi, in 9.3 Lightwave now supports open EXR format.
How do you get the buffer passes into the EXR file?
I tried render buffer export but that didn't seem to work.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Mike

You don't. You'll have to save them to separate EXR files... or use exrTrader.

I haven't tried that, but you might want to have a look at DStorms Buffer saver: http://www.dstorm.co.jp/english/plugin/layout.htm#BufferSaver2

Also, make sure that the file names for every image saved out are unique.

Cheers,
Mike

I don't know much about it but doesn't not being able to save the buffers in the EXR format defeat the purpose of even using it?

No. Afaik the question was basically on saving all (or selected) buffers in a single EXR file, instead of one image file per buffer.

OpenEXR has a number of other advantages... great lossless compression, a selection of 16/32bit float pixel formats etc...

Cheers,
Mike
