I am trying to draw bones in layout...placing them in relation to my character but when I draw the bone it doesn't start where my mouse is located instead its drawn a ways off completely ignoring my mouse placement. How can I fix this.....I didn't place any nulls or pivots............
TIA

Are you drawing them in perspective view?

side view

Is it not lining up in that view port or when you switch to another?

basically the bone that's being drawn in the viewport isn't drawn according to where I have placed my mouse. It draws the bone a few inches(in grid terms 3m away even though the grid is set to 1m) away from the actual draw point. Doesn't matter what view port. No nulls or pivots either...

Got me stumped I'm afraid, my knowledge of rigging is limited. Hopefully, some of the others may look in.

So in side view, are you saying the new bone's base Z and Y positions are not where you start the bone?

yes that's what I mean............was wondering if there's a way in modeler to reset the pivot or center of an object to some default.....this is just plain weird...................

Yeah, weird. It happens when the pivot point is adjusted in modeler though. I don't know if this is a bug? If you numerically set your pivot mpoint in modeler back to 0,0,0 you should be good though.

ok, so I don't recall ever touching the pivot tool..........I have been having all sorts of junk going on with LW 9.2 so I tried resetting the pivot and it works now. My question is this, is the drawing of bones directly tied to your pivot and if not I guess we have another bug.........
