hi everyone,

i'm try to master the wonderful lightwave. At this moment i'm looking for the best way to place a camera near an object. There is a method or a tool to accomplish a task such this? I don't want to play with the camera trying to place her manually, with the mouse. Can anyone help me, please?

Thank you

Here's one way:

You'll learn a few things in the process too.

Press o on the keyboard for the Preferences panel. 1/3 of the way down on the General TAB you'll see Parent in Place. Uncheck it.

Create a Null and leave it at 0,0,0.

Parent the camera to the object you want to be close to. (m for motion options) If the default setting is too far away you can just center the camera at 0,0,0 and it will center to the object. You can then just pull it back as far as you want.

Now check the Parent In Place box to turn it back on, parent the camera to the null and then unparent it. The camera will now be where it is and unparented to the object. Or if you want to camera to remain parented you can do that too.
