Just finished this 7 minute short (http://www.digifreak.tv/workshop/Projects/RWDP/showreel/) for the opening of a new national museum in the UK.

Watch the lo res one, and spare me the bandwidth!

Lightwave used here and there :-)

Comments welcome. (there is a link to see credits & soundtrack, too)

Hi,

Very good, I liked the style and how his history is told. I always loved biographies of people like him! :)

SO congratulations are in order! :)

Best regards,
David

Wow, very nice movie, I like the artdirection. The ending is a bit confusing though, why was luck with him this time? Great work man, gratz!

Because if the sewer door hadn't stopped the gas reaching the furnace, he would had been been the 'real' Guy Fawkes'!

Thanks for the comments.

It was quite a challenge trying to condense that last bit in 1 minute, I can tell you!

Very Good!

Book-like so the final must be in higher resolution, one would presume.

Only one glaring "mistake" which I don't see how you missed! About 20 seconds in, at the graphic moving sideways, there is very bad strobing.

All the other transitions in the film are graceful and some outstanding!

Strong sideways movement always seems problematical.

Again, good job.

Yeah - that's the AE motion blur - I fixed for the final cut.

Well spotted.

Just you you know all the motion blur was done in post.

Gotta love Reelsmart.

Nice job Steve... particle effects were good and I bet they were a nightmare ;)

How would I know?

You did them :-)

I think we both know which particle system rescued us from insanity...

Steve did a great job, and is now an expert in Trapcode Particular :-)

I love the way you merged one segment with another. I just became immersed in the historical information.

Did you guys make one in any other codec. Steve showed me the link this morning but quicktime is being evil.

Well done either ways. :P

due to VT4 / QT /Supermicro mb issues I am still using qt6, which means I cannot view it in this computer. - out of curiosity - what are the benefits in terms of saving a file as qt7 or qt6? better quality?

AFAIK - these movies are using the H.264 codec, which has improved from QT6.
