Hello.
As the headline says, I’m having a problem with lightwave and the program ivygenerator (http://graphics.uni-konstanz.de/%7Eluft/ivy_generator/).
The problem occures once I import the *.obj file back in to LW. As simple as it is, I just can't get the textures right.
I don't know what I am doing wrong, but it must be something with the UV texturing.
therefor, i kindly ask if anyone know of a detailed tutorial, or something similar, on how to texture objects imported from ivygenerator?

Thank you

You might need to use a 3d Object converter program to properly do UV texture conversion of the OBJ. LW's own OBJ loader may not interpret the maps properly. I know I tried the generator before myself and had the same problem. Ivy Generator IS a cool program though. The supplied Ivy image should be mapped to the leaf poly's but obviously isn't happening right.

It'd be cool if someone could develop a plugin to do this sort of thing right within LW. Probably would be like a variation on the Polas' developed Tree Generator.

I'm not very experienced with IvyGenerator, but I made a short tutorial showing what I could get it to do in LightWave. You will see me get a little confused, but it might be of some use:

JamesCurtis: In a way I'm glad that others are having the same problem, because when others describes how they do, it sounds so easy and was loosing my mind trying to figure it out.

Whit: Thank you for the tutorial, I will have a look at it once I get home from work.
