Hey guys I need your help. I purchased the IFW textures and I need to open the mac version which is an SIT file. Anyway I have no way to open the file without either buying stuffit. The only free program I found that would open them was mind expander but it is no longer available for download. Any of you mac people or someone with stuffit mind opening the file for me :) Or if you know of some free software that will open SIT on windows that would be great too :)

Yes I know but you still have to give them your credit card information and then cancel before the 30 days is up or they will charge you! I guess that is the new marketing scheme these days. If noone can help me out I just may have to do it though.

Here's a direct link to an older version of Stuffit:

p.s. - I don't know why anyone uses Stuffit for archiving things anymore. It's often a nuisance, and OSX natively supports Zip anyway.

I know SIT seems like a useless format these days.

Compressing with StuffIt is necessary for backward compatibility to have MacOS resource additional files..

Apple doesn't seem to share that view, having dropped it long ago. (And - if there was one thing Stuffit could never justifiably be accused of - it was backward compatability.) Good riddance.
