Sure, there's the one I wrote which was included as part of the LW9 manual to get you started.

The online version is still available as well which also includes using third party controllers on Mac OS X.

Mastering LWSN ScreamerNet on Mac OS X
(http://dreamlight.com/insights/10/welcome.html)
It was originally written for LW 7.5, then updated for LW 8. Once the LightWave UB comes out I'll update it for LW9/UB as well. All the concepts are the same it's only some of the button locations and file paths that may need minor modifications.

Hope it helps! :D

If you just mean plugging bidirectional cat cables into an Ethernet hub, most modern hubs are dynamic they allocate IP addresses automatically for each machine/device or volume, even WiFi hubs, they're all the same, network setup utility in system prefs will guide you through the rest. I'm a mixture of hard wired and WiFi, go look at Apples support site on set up and trouble shooting http://www.apple.com/support/airport/

Good point Gerry! :beerchug:

Since this was in the LightWave Mac section I assumed the question was about setting up Mac OS X network "rendering" without a server... It never dawned on me that the question might be about the actual network itself...

Here's the section on setting up the basic Mac OS X network itself (http://dreamlight.com/insights/10/basic_network_rendering.html#netSetup) for use with Screamernet.

And here's a Mac OS X Network Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%2B%22Mac%2BOS%2BX%22%2B%2B%22set%2Bup%2Ba%2Bnet work%22%2B%2Bethernet%2B%2Bhub&btnG=Google%2BSearch) that may help too!
