Is there a way to do Motion tracking in LW? I want to shoot a live action moving plate and then ad some fun CG to it. You Know like a reporter talking then the camera swings up to reveal and Space Ship hovering right over their heads. How do you do that?
Thanks

Not within LightWave... however, there are quite a few third party match moving tools that can export LW scenes.
I personally use SynthEyes - but there are other choices.

Set up camera shot including coming off talent to where you want specialFX.
save video into compy as avi (maby LW uses Quicktime now?).

Use video as background in LW.
Do all your specialFX, render out to new vid with special FX in it.

If it's a simple tilt, etc. (e.g., cam on tripod), you might be able to get away by 2D tracking an object in your video and using that info to move your FX render. E.g., AE Pro can do this.

I've enjoyed PFhoe. It's fairly cheap (was free on Digit a few months back I think)
