Does anyone really knows how to improve Open GL speed? I have a MAC PRO dual core intel XEon with a grafic card ATI Radeon X1900 and 5 GB RAM and LW 9.2, it works faster than before, but for some huge proyects. still slow. where should I invest my money? , in more Ram?, in a powerfull grafic card?, or in another MAC PRO?, or is there another solution like software patches,..or soething like that wich helps?..

Thanks a lot for any help

The Universal Binary, in Open Beta, will speed things up.

But I have the final release of LW 9.2, is this not the universal binary?

No, it's not. The UB is available in your downloads section on http://Register.newtek.com , and there's a special forum dedicated to discussing it, as portions of the UB release are still under NDA (as I understand it).

Upps,.. sorry for my missinformation, and thanks for your help,....

I just donwnloaded LW 9.2 and i'm using it now. If you are right,... this is still not the universal binary as i first thought, and the real universal binary is still in open beta and under developement. Is this true?

Hi Juli51,

Yes. And if you have a registered version of 9.0 or 9.2, Open Beta = Open to you (and it's free).

It speeds up a lot of things. Notably, renders.

Especially on Intel hardware.
