View Full Version : Can this be done?

I'm sure the answer is "yes", but it currently beyond my skillset with LW.

Please see the attached jpeg. I would like to animate the top roadway surface to have a displacement or bump map that will raise the top surface moving from left to right in a controllable fashion, being able to stop at specific points along the way. I would also like the raised portion to change color, as in changing from the roadway surface map to solid yellow.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I think the best way to do this is with nulls as reference objects. You can move the null in the direction you want to mover the terrain. You can also add a null with a falloff to as a reference object. In your blending modes chose the one that works best I am thinking a screen will work ok.

I just did mine with a procedural texture but you can use any bitmap image also.

I ended up going low-tech and using a transparent movie with color over the roadway.

Thanks for trying!
