Why why. . .You want particles to emit the same color as what is on a texture???????????????????

I need more specifics. As far as I know you have to do this kind of a thing manually doing render tests or previews.

sorry i start again… id like( ;)) a gray scale map to emit particles in darken areas if you had a world map it would only emit on continents here it is…

Is that map animated?

If not, I'd probably take a plane and use APS to displace it, save transformed, open it in modeler and reduce polys so that the oceans are all flat, and then use that as a particle emitter per point...

something like that.

EDIT:

Actually I just checked. There's a T button behind birthrate. So, use the texture there... the whiter the image, the more particles will be born. Black means no particles being born.
