I have a shoot with 4 cameras, and i normaly use S-Video cables, but i have 3 Sony HDV HVR-Z1u cameras and a cannon XL2 for this shoot, and am thinking of running RGB back to the BOB instad of S-Video for a better signal.
Can RGB travel 50 or 100 ft with out much signal loss? I really like the looks of the video of the Sony HVR-Z1u camera and would like to get as close as i can with the Live picture and a switcher as i do on tape.

With nice quality cable absolutely. Not a problem at all.

Our Sony component camera cables run 328 ft.

The question in lenrht limit would probably be more of how strong and clean of a signal is the piece of equipment putting out.

But 50 or 100 feet is no problem.

Thanks Jim
I feel better about the production, with that concern out of the way.
I always hear about bosters and repeaters, but i thought if S-Video can run 100ft and still look OK, then RGB should also. It never hurts to ask questions first.
