Guys, I'm using Visual C++ 2005 Express edition and I'm trying to get the template to work, but VS C++ seems to require a .xtemplate file or something, as opposed to a .template file which is included. Also, the documentation seems to be only for Dev C++, which I'd never heard of before.
So, does anyonw know how to set up the template?

Hi, As you found the template it is only for Dev CPP, that you can download here:

http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

It is free, but uses the Mingw port of GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) as it's compiler.

In fact it is only an IDE that can control that and another compilers. It is like CodeBlocks:

http://www.codeblocks.org/

CodeBlocks opens Dev Cpp projects, i am sure of that.

I think it would not be possible to convert the template from Dev Cpp to Visual Express. I am not sure bout it.

I found a new technology version of Visual Express in:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/future/

I hope this helps.

Best regards,
David

David,
That should help. I do like using the MS IDE so I'll probably stick with that one, but if the template works in Dev CPP I'll just generate the initial template from that, then continue working in VSC++. Thanks :)

HI,

Glad it help! :)

Be careful if you use that latest version of VC Express(Orcas), I found it can give problems when you try to debug plugins.
