I always liked the concept of M.A.S.K.

Wasn't M.A.S.K a strange hybrid of Transformers and Gi Joe? I do remember liking it but then I was much younger then and Chef BoyarDee tasted good still and not the noodles in ketchup sauce that it really is.

If it can make money, either in theaters or DVD video release, then it probably will be made. I don't know about you, but Comics and TV Kidvid shows are ripe for mining for ideas.

The article mentions costumed characters. Why not?! The Cats musical did this quite well and was very effective. Of course there is always CG 3D too. Doing it that way would look cool IMO.

My wife loved the Thundercats.

BTW, I always thought it'd be a great idea to make an m&m's movie!!! Hint!!

Thundercats was a great cartoon when I was a kid .. but then memory always does distort.

Last reference I saw to Thundercats was that Family Guy movie.. sleazy :D

No need to choose, just be ambivalent.

Hollywood is so scared to put money out there for new ideas, so they stick to "sure" things (i.e. resurrecting popular tv shows, sequels to hit films, popular cartoons, re-doing old hit films, etc). Let's see, Rocky 12, or whatever its up to now, Rambo, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Shrek, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Ghost Rider, X-Men (trend?). All great movies, but c'mon -- give us something original once in a while. <Runs off to write Mr. Ed script>

SuperTed! Where do I join the queue (only for a cartoon version, though)? Just as long as Dangermouse is on their list. And Count Duckula.

Hmmm.... Perhaps I shouldn't have read this thread :D

Yep. These days, you could market it as a cross between Transformers and Pimp My Ride. :D

You wanna see scary? I saw the trailer for the live-action Underdog movie this past week, and I have only one thing to say. WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!

Hey Kurtis,

The least they could have done was to use a CG version of the animated cartoon show!!

Besides, at first I thought it was a trailer for a Superdog movie!!

Sheeeeesh!!

What? No mention of Go-Bots, the Snorks, or Voltron? I mean, Spaceghost got his own talkshow for Pete's sake.

My initial actor talent guess list:

Matthew Mcconaughey for Liono, he already has the mane.
Vin Diesel for Panthro (ohh heck yeah kilvano, you got that right on)
Danny DeVito as Snarf
and Uma Thurman as Cheetara.

Not sure who would play Mumm-Ra but I think the fella who played Hellraiser would do a keen job on that.
