View Full Version : Difference between Obj Replace and setting Obj Dissolve to 0%?

In an effort to speed a rendering along, I'm looking at using Object Replace for switching out high to low poly buildings and wondering [as an alternative] if setting an envelope so buildings dissolve to 0% once camera has passed would be equally effective? I'm thinking one difference may be RAM consideration?

I /think/ if you dissolve an object out completely that all it's geometry will still be in ram (check the poly counts during rendertime)

Using Object Replace should work the way you expect.
