It's definitely a fan movie. The animation just isn't very good :P The look is nice though.

for me, the biggest thing was some of the modeling on the characters....

and this kids is the DANGER of doing something like this. if you don't say up front that you're a fan film, you will invite some no holds barred criticism.

(as well as a bunch of orgasmic fanboys... so all in all, perhaps not a wise stunt? :)

Aw come on, SW is all about the fans, without them no box office, Lucas knows that.
And this one looks really cool, nice style and lighting and all.Mace Windu...lives ???

Well it does say right at the top that this isn't an official film

I hope, i'm not insulting anyone, and please keep up making shorts, but, this was just terrible, with a capital T.
The animation is very very bad, the character modeling and design is all over the place, etc.

To be a bit more constructive, work on your animation (a lot), have an overal character design look (all characters at the moment look to be made by different designers who never been given a style guide), try to work on the background and the lighting (it just doesn't work at times).

For what its worth, there's now an official sequel to the Star Wars cartoon that picks up where the cartoon left off. Its in CG, and MUCH better than this :)

ugh.

is it just me?

i am just so sick of star wars now. lucas just ruined it for me. i don't want to see star wars anything....

even the 30th anniversary celebration and stamps and such just makes me cringe and die a little bit inside.

Oh! don't forget that Lucas has mentioned a live action tv series of Star Wars coming in the "distant" future....

Lucas needs to just drop Star Wars. Make something new....

Though I will probably have to see this CG clone wars series... And I will have to also play the new Starwars Force Unlimited game.. or whatever its gonna get called.

But thats it! No more!

No, it's not just you. Episode's 1 through 3 (all the new ones) ruined Star Wars for me. I don't even like to bring up the originals anymore (even though I still love them). Then the fact that he won't release them on DVD formatted for Widescreen TVs is another blow to the franchise. Yes, I bought the original theatrical releases but they're formatted for 4:3 TVs meaning they will be ultra small on a widescreen TV (black bars on the top and sides!).

I wish Star Wars would die. I don't really want to hear anything more about it, good or bad. I'd also rather not see Lucas ever again...he doesn't deserve any awards or special mentions. He got lucky with the originals and should have left it at that. He's not a good story teller, he's not a good movie maker, and he's certainly not worthy of messing around with the stuff he did right to begin with!

Ouch Earl, that is some harsh critisism ;)

I'm still in denial about the prequels.

I cling tightly to my non-special edition widescreen VHS box set, complete with visible mattes, film scratches, and Han shooting first. CG can take you so many more places these days, however it's more than nice to have a touchstone of original inspiration close at hand.

I hope the animated series has integrity, and I hope the TV show will have the spirit of the original films.

I still kept my VHS tapes with the ones i taped from television, i still don't own StarWard 1-3 on DVD, and i probably nerver will, not until they release de-nerfed theatrical release version.

Lee stringer says there that people from the Dave school made the fan film.

You kept that bit quiet Proton :)

I was going to have a look at the youtube video, but Lucasfilm have had it removed.
