Let me start with an example:

2 balls on a hard surface. One ball rolls and strikes the other before rolling to a stop.

Does LW have a way of managing the physics of this kind of thing as well as automating the rolling of the balls? I can hand key this but it would be nice if there was a better way.

If there is, just point me in the right direction in the docs or online.

This is possible with HardFX dynamics or ClothFX. HardFX if you want hard balls and ClothFX if you want soft balls.

If you find the manual sadly lacking on this topic (as I do!) there's a whole chapter on dynamics, beginning with Hard Body Dynamics, in Dan Ablan's "Inside Lightwave 9." Tutorials too. Thanks be to Dan!!!
