I don't know what to do. I really can't use cloth effects to make a t-shirt. It always passes throught the object. Cillision does not exists. Does some one have a sample here using 9.2?

I can confirm that. Send the item and scene to [email protected] so they can fix it. I reproduced it with a simple scene, but then LW crashed and now I can't reproduce it :)

Hold on, it might have something to do with subdivision order on your collision object. try setting it to last and see if that works.

The people at Worley told me that sas only works if the sub display and subdiv render settings are the same in 9.2, so you may want to check that also in case it is a bug affecting multiple plugins.....

Some very old files (of about 7 years ago) that did for beginning a discussion on dynamics in the official Newtek's forum. Done in Motion Designer ( when it was an old plugin ).

With the old Motion Designer (that still comes in lightwave) I managed to do good fabric simulations, but it didn't have the weightmaps control, extremely necessary to give realism and control of the fabric. It also has a bug that happens when points coincide (arrests).

With Current CLOTH FX, that theoretically is the same code of Daisuke turning native in the lightwave I don't get right the collisions. If you have some test with current CLOTH that works (colliding with the geometry, not with bounces), please post here. We will discuss Cloth on lightwave!

The question is I need to make CLOTH FX to work right 'cause I need weightmap control to make it realistic. So I must use lightwave 9.2 cloth dynamics.
I tried several times and It passes trought always.
When I tried with bounce objects, sometimes it collides, sometimes not...
I need one geometry colliding with other to create something like a T-Shirt.

Do you have a scene to test? Cause I can get good collisions see below...

Yes, I do I will send you the files by e-mail ok?

Yeah, your collision is great. Generally I get some good results for part of one scene, but it passes through when character timming changes during the scene. Actually It always passes through and then start to collide well on the wrong side of the model. I really hate this :(.

Doesn't it have something to do with the fact that the Dynamics object is calculated based on its polys and the Colision object is based on its points? Or the other way around? I've never had good colisions without use of just default collision shapes, and sometimes you have to get lucky with those! Sigh.

I really hope that Newtek improve choth/collision bery soon. I think they should take back Motion Designer and start from it. Let's see what can they do about it.

My experience with ClothFX has been that using collision speheres or boxes generally results in a much more stable calculation.

I recently did a cable that two characters were holding while they walked, and no matter what I did, I got some really bad jitter on the cable. The reason: I used the charachters as collision. Once I had created a bunch of Nulls, applied collision spheres and parented those to areas that collided with the cable, it was a rock solid result...
