Hey guys, I have decided to take the leap and buy a copy of LW student. Im just finding i need it more than the time i have in class, now that the lab is booked both halfs of the day:(.

So what im after is the cheapest place to buy the App, as being a student pennies are fairly tight. Im in NZ but Im guessing the web is the cheapest place.

Thanks all.

I know two places for cheap LW's. One is right here. In other forums you have people selling their stuff. Once there was a guy who sold LW, Messiah, Maya, all Dan's books, all Larry's Video's, all an all for 1500 Euros. LW itself was about 300 Euros. Pretty cheap. See if you still have such people around these forums somewhere. They sell either current version or earlier versions of LW which you can then upgrade either for free or for alot less.

The other is of course eBay. But beware of pirated copies, showed as if they were legal. And you should check with newtek about weather a certain serial number is genuine before going ahead and buying it. However cheap it may be.

Scroll down to the very very very bottom of the main Forum page to the category of Buy/Sell/Trade-Lightwave Related. There may be something there, or you can post a request to see if anyone has what you need.

Be careful with the software you buy over the internet, specially with respect
to licenses and rights of that software, example: maya is not transferable, so
is not legal to sell it. Now with Lightwave they allow you that, not so sure
about the educational license. Some have tried even over Ebay, but you must
be careful with the scams. Some places that I now remember are:

The student edition is going to be pretty cheap everywhere, I doubt you will find a huge difference in price no matter where you buy it. I think things will go smoother for you if you take the (other) kiwi's advice and look in Aus. or NZ.
