Hi all. THis is probaly a pretty easy question. How do you go about using rigid body animations with skeletons, such as in animating a robotic arm with bones. Can you just point me to some tutorials on that that would be great. thanks!

Well, the best way here is to use weight maps. This will allow you to explicitly assign points to the respective bone and so everything will remain stiff. This is especially important in the chest area. You have to remember that all bones then need to have a weightmap assigned. If you forget to do that, you will get screwed deformations in certain areas.

However, if possible you should try to set up your hierarchy directly with your objects and assign them IK directly. This will greatly speed things up and since it is a robot anyway it should not be too difficult (unless, of course, you use things like soft "gloves" to cover your joints).
