I wasn't sure where to post this, I thought it might be of interest to NT coders and any shader writing wizards that are around!

I came a cross this Single scatter shader (http://www.sharecg.com/view.php?upload_id=541) for Maya that seems to be a fake SSS shader that doesn't require ray tracing which presumably would make it super fast!?

It's apparently based on this (http://www.cs.utah.edu/vissim/papers/ALTAMS) paper

Hope it's of some interest!

BTW the same guy (Miguel Angel Santiago) has written some other interesting Maya plugs on that site too, Velvet shader, rim light shader...
