View Full Version : mdd + displacement

I've got a character animated with the MD plug plugin and I'm trying to get the new displacement to work on top of the MDD deformation.

I'm playing around with order and such but it seems to me the only way to get the displace to work is to set the subdiv order to first which desactivate the MDD deformation.

Anyone has a solution for this ?

Use this plugin: http://perso.orange.fr/dpont/plugins/MDD_Pointer.html
Which will allow nodal displacement to load the mdd file. Nodal displacement allows you to set the order of operation for the displacement BEFORE subdivision. Then you can add textured displacement, bump displacement etc AFTER subdivision.

for anyone that's interested here's what I did :
so I used Denis Pontonnier's mdd pointer node in the node displacement editor and used Lynx3D's normal displacement in the Add displacement tab.
Node displacement order is set to Before Local displacement and subdivision order is set to After Displacement.
Quite a pain in the a** to set up but it seems to be working now. :beerchug:

if you still want to use MD_Plug, be sure to set KeyMove to "On".
