Hi all

There is a piece of software that I used a while back called RenderFarm Commander. An excellent piece of software! It basically controls screamernet, creates all the nodes you need and also offers split frame rendering.

Unfortunately they only make it for a Mac.

Does anyone know of anything that offers split frame rendering through screamernet and runs on a PC?

Cheers all

Try Mule 2.0 from epicsoft. It supports frame splitting better than I have seen from just about any other app.

Would that be like having more than one machine rendering a single frame (F9) rather than a sequence using ScreamerNet?

It doesnt work by pressing F9 .. it works like any screamernet render in that you have to output the scene to the farm and the software splits the scene into multiple segments. Good for single frame final renders but not good for "setup renders".

I see.... I found the Mule website and had a look: http://www.epicsoft.net/products/mule/

This puppy looks amazing for setting and dist rendering. Some great features that i didn't know i needed until i saw them. Check out the video tuts.

Pennys are being saved.... I think i need this to overcome the 9.2 screamerNet problem i'm having with my Netgear NAS. See my other thread: http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69135

Mule is definately THE screamernet controller to have. I don't have it. :(

My envy of my workmate's Max bucket renderer is causing me to purchase Virtual Render, though..
