View Full Version : Change the Pivot Rotation

Ok I know I probably should have set this correctly at the start...
But i need to Change the Pivot Rotation, it's all squashed up. I need to align it.

So what's the best way to go about this?

I found bone twist but once i press it I can't get out of it...

To get out of any of the bone tools, use space or click on another tool like Move or rotate.

To rotate the pivot use Animate>Rotate>RotatePivot
If you want to zero the pivot, you can use the Setup>Modify>RecPivotRot
but that does all your items (or just one, I can never remember), or you could download my pivot plugins from my web page, which work on all selected items and so are a bit easier to use.

Hi Dodgy, dowloading your plugin now...
I have just realised how to rotate the pivot, but suddenly...
The geometry has twisted, what did i do?

Dodgy that plugin works well...
But when I reload the scene, the mesh is stuffed...

actually, I think It may work if I remove all the ik setttings first...
is there a work-around for this?

ok I know this can work... I have fiddled around and one arm is fine
I just nned toknow the process'
this is how i think it went
1. disable Deform and IK
2. select bone
3. rotate pivot to where it looks good
4. Use your script to record pivot rotation
5. rotate bone in to where it should rest
6. Key frame it at -1
7. Press r
8. Save

Yes, if you rotate pivots on bones, you have to rest them afterwards, so LW knows the new angle to use to associate bones with vertices.
