I've loaded in the piston.lws scene that comes with the Relativity content. I'm trying to work out where its getting its numbers from.

(#def - 0.49) + cos(P(piston_crank.lwo,t))*0.490

These numbers must be relative to something, but I'm not sure what. I want to use the equation on my own model but trial and error with those figures results in a 'dodgy' result at best.

Any assistance is appreciated!

I can't find the expression in your attachment, but the 0.49 is the heigh of the crankshaft. The cos()*0.49 describes the high relative to it's angle.

Thanks! - the information is very useful.

(The expression is located in the relativity motion modifier of the piston head.)
