Hi,
Can anyone out there recommend a tutorial on how to model a 747 (or similar aircraft). I have had limited success so far using non-organic modelling as I haven't really done any organic before.

Problem is it very difficult to get smooth shapes (for example where the wing comes off the fuselage) and I have no idea how to do that. Also modelling the cockpit and windows is tricky as they are on a curved surface (Iíve posted for help on that issue before).

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Lewis

There was an aeroplane tutorial over at LWG3D, may be worth a wander over.
http://www.lwg3d.com/v3/index.htm

The way I'd do it is, get some ref plans, (side / top / front), set them up in modeller and then likely use SubDs to flesh out the main structure.

Have you checked out here for any suitable tutorials that you could adapt to your plane of choice?

Don't know about a tutorial, but a great source for vehicle "blueprints" with various views is http://www.suurland.com/. I see they do have a number of 747 drawings that you could use in the background to model over. Some drawings are better quality than others.
