I have put together a raid consisting of 5 IBM 180gxp 120g 8mb cache drives on a escalade 7500-8 switch. Should I enable the write back cache on the drives or not? Any one test the differences?

We're using the same controller, and have the write cache disabled (which can be done from the windows level with the 3DM Disk Management Utility). Never seem to have the time to test for speed differences with it on or off.

It has been recommended (by others on this forum, as well as Newtek) to leave write caching off to get the best Sustained write speeds. Cache enabled will help with burst speeds, but will have an adverse affect on the sustained speeds.
