View Full Version : Why is text so hard to handle

I really hate the CG editor in VT. I have a scrolling page that is over 100 "objects"/lines. When I select all lines and try and change the color the CG designer locks up, does the same thing in VTED.
When I add a shadow or outline to the text it ends up flickering and jumping (those are technical terms) upon playback. Almost as if it appears in one frame and goes away in the next.
Why is text so for VT to handle. I hope the CG editor in SE is more capable than VT4's.:bangwall:

Well, there isn't a "CG program" in the stand-alone sense in SpeedEDIT.

There are CG effects that you add as needed and create your text then, more on-the-fly. The quality of them is really good, and scrolls look much better at all speeds.

For the CG Designer in VT[4], I only recommend speed 2, and then a half pixel of X/Y blur applied in VT-EDIT. For your edges and shadows, be sure they are at least 2 pixels thick, since you are working in interlace.

Eugene, what is 1/2 pixel blur on the edit properties? Is is a .05 or so?
Thanks
Ty

Just a .5 setting for the X and Y blurs.
