View Full Version : jpeg image to a primative?

I am trying to place a jpeg image into LW onto a primative(box). I have looked at some reference books but none seem to cover how to place a jpeg picture into Lightwave onto an object, in this case a box made from the primitive menu. Looking for the proper steps to achieve this. Thank you.

1) Create box
2) Select a polygon
3) press q and give the polygon a name
4) press f5 to open the surface editor
5) Select the new surface name
6) find color channel and click on the button with a T on it.
7) load your image - There is an auto size button to adjust the image to the polygon.
8) Save your object and transfer to layout
9) render
You should now have an image on 1 side of your box. You can apply a different image to each side of the box this way like a photo cube. You can also give more than 1 polygon the same name and they will share the image.
Play around with the different options and see what they do and don't worry you won't break it.
Have fun
