View Full Version : Anti aliasing: how much is enough?

Does everyone here determine how much they need by experimentation with the scene or image they're currently working on, or is there a level accepted by most people as being the best for the amount of time...

IOW, more passes are better, I spoze, but what's the point of diminishing returns where all that extra render time doesn't result in an appreciably better image?

It's entirely scene dependant, and it's just whatever looks good.

If I get stepped diagonals (flickering during motion) in my render, then it's not enough.

Final image resolution plays into the equation also.
