Firstly i'd like to say Hi to everyone here :)

Ok, i have just started using LW, and have got a problem with boolean's!!

i am trying to cut shapes out of a flat fuselage, but when i subtract the shape it removes the two sides of my fuselage, here's a before picture:

and here's the after boolean subtract, and the missing sides

a closer view:

i am completely at a loss as what to do, any help would be very much appreciated.

First off, welcome to Lightwave and welcome to the forum!

To answer your question, it looks like the polys are still there, but they are flipped, meaning the normal is facing the opposite direction.
You can only see the front of a polygon, not the back. If the polys were gone, you would see all of the grid behind it.
Look at your second posted image; there's a poly there blocking the grid from view.
To fix it, just select the polys, and type f to flip them back.

Good luck, and happy 'waving!
