View Full Version : Question(s) on Academic version of LW

06-18-2003, 10:54 PM
Hi, I've been thinking about purchasing the Academic version of LW lately, but have a few questions before I do so...

1. Are there any restrictions on the Academic version? Disabled tools, lscripts, plug-ins, watermarks (big one), etc.

2. Would I still get the free upgrade to LW8 when it comes out? (In Academic version, of course)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Anyone? :) Or would this question be better suited to a different forum?

I do believe that the only restriction with the Educational version would be that you are restricted, through the licsense agreement, from doing any commercial work with the package.

As for the free upgrade I really don't know. You may want to talk to a sales representative or maybe Chuck will pop in and give you the answer.

I've e-mailed the sales team, no response yet... And I've tried calling... To no avail, either... =\ I have everything I need, except I wanna know if I'll have to pay a couple hundred extra bucks to upgrade to LW8! =\

For anyone that is interested:

Yes, you DO get the free software upgrade to LW8 when it comes out.
