Apologies for bringing this up as a new topic, but the search function is not working for me tonight, keeps wanting me to save a php file for some odd reason.

Anyway, what i would like to find out, is the basic settings for that clay look render that i see a lot of.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Perhaps i should have clarified a bit, i'm after the lighting setup more than anything, the texture side of things i am ok on. Its the lighting from a 'dome' of polys that i am interested.

Create a dome, flip the polys so they point inward toward the object or scene. Make the polys VERY luminous. Render with radiosity.

Thanks Matt,

What i was attempting was correct, turned out my radiosity settings needed tweaked.

Easier:
Turn on white background color.
Render with radiosity.

Oh, will give that a go.
I've been footering with Lightwave for a couple of years, but only recently stepped up my learning curve.

Nice to get replies from some of the well known forum users :)

Another way to do it:

Everything 100% luminous, no radiosity and an ambient occlusion shader on all surfaces. That'll probably be faster, but it'll have less directionality than the radiosity one. AO shaders are nice though.
