I am trying to create a talking animal using video footage of the live animal and 3D modeled lower jaw. Can anybody give me some tips on compositing and matching moves with video and 3D ?

Thanks

Dan Ablan's book, "Inside Lightwave 8" , (chapter 20 ) has a step-by-step chapter on compositing and match moving.

You'll need to matchmove the footage to get the camera movement imported into your 3D app. I use SynthEyes for matchmoving and love it.

If I recall correctly, SynthEyes was used for object tracking animal faces in a recent movie with talking animals (not sure if it was Charlotte's Web or another one).

I think he may be referring to the fact that this was done in the movie Racing Stripes. Not a very helpful post, but I don't think it's spam.
