View Full Version : 30" Monitor settings for layout and modeler

I thought I'd post my layout and modeler settings I use with a 30" monitor with 2560x1600 pixel settings. I simply customized all drop downs to be open and kept the orders for the most part, consistent with the defaults.

I found it really nice to not have to guess at what is inside each sub-menu.

hope this helps someone,

I actually have one for sale. They are nice though. I'm using an Apple 30" now but have the new HP 3065 on order because of its 3 dual-DVI inputs. This works really well for my workflow.

I'm looking forward to the 3000+ pixel monitors later this year :-0

memoirs from a pixel junky...

$1575 + shipping. Lightly used. about $425 below what apple wants. should still have some applecare left on it too.

Dude, use both. Or can your GPU not handle that?

well, the macpro running an ATI x1900 should do it but it doesn't. Running winxp pro, I can only run the one dual dvi monitor period. Haven't tried it on the mac side yet though, hmmm. I'll report back...

Dude, just get another video card. If you are gonna blow silly money on 30" monitors, for a bit extra you get 60". Imagine, Layout + menus on one and Modeler + menus on the other. THE POWER

Turned out to be a bad DVI cable - and it does drive 2 30" monitors as it should. The problem then becomes deskspace - I'm moving into a new facility in two weeks so I'll see how it all goes.

You can not -not use another 30" monitor because of desk space. That excuse will not fly. Money's one thing, but if that's not an issue, then you should hook them up and take pictures. Then post the pictures for me and everyone else who enjoys a little techie porn.
