View Full Version : XPanels Embedded in Existing LW Windows?

So far my experience with the LW GUI has been limited to Panels. However, looking at XPanels in the SDK documentation I noticed this:

"...xpanels can be embedded in LightWave®'s own windows."

I am just curious how this works. Does it depend on what type your plugin is?

Take a look at the panels docs: there's a XPanel control.

You can place the Xpanel control in a panel and I don't believe there's any restriction. It's a good way to get use vParms/Envelopes/Textures in a panel. Otherwise it's hassle city.

What Auran is referring to is the feature that for certain plugin types, the xpanel can be put in the parent window if the xpanel fits within the space reserved for it. For example motion modifiers, displacement plugins (both in the empty space below the plugin list), and channel modifiers (in the space on the right of the plugin list).

It's an automatic thing. You don't have to do anything special. It will be done provided the xpanel fits and is non-modal.

Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant.
