im trying to figure out, how to obtain the normal maps in mudbox? i have done all the things in the tutorial videos, but i only obtain a black image.
any idea or tip to work better with these two apps...

There was a error between LW's native .obj extension and mudbox.....
The UV info will disappear......so cause normal map or displacement unbake......

All we can do was exported the .obj through a free .obj exporter plugin...
You can find it at flay....

i have been having difficulty at the rendering phase. Apparently subd+displacement maps are very prone to becoming unresponsive. It stops accepting changes at a certain point.:thumbsdow

Trust me......
As the lost of UV info....you will just get a black(displacement map) or blue(normal map) image...
When you lost your UV info at mudbox...you can scuplt it but can't bake map....
