When I try to search the forum, say for 'Flash 8', it works.

When I try to search the forum for 'load object layer' the website tries to download the newtek search php file to my computer....

Am I hallucinating? I am pretty sure I didn't eat those mushrooms I saw in the park.

When I try to do a search for 'load object layer', I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display this page" error page.

When I did a search for 'Flash 8' it works. Ironically enough, the first thread in my search results was titled "OK this is odd".

Kooky.

I am using Firefox, so maybe it tries to do something different.

Under firefox it says you have chosen to open/dl search.php

I hope this is not a security problem for them.

I have never seen a forum volunteer to cough up one of its own files.

had similiar problems here (http://newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58687) when searching for Image AND Editor.

So so far the searches that cause this are:

Image AND Editor
render
load object layer
radiosity problem

any others to add to the list?

That is weird.

'Object' works
'Layer' works
'Load' works
'Load Layer' works

'Load object' fails
'object layer' fails
'load object layer' fails

Sorry James, missed your post, add the first two fails to your list :)

I sent a message to the webmaster, as, I have to admit did not put it under the most descriptive thread title.

Haha. Can't tell if you're taking a mick or not.

Both work in getting my attention, though.

It looks like the server crashes (I do a lot of this kind of analysis at work).

My guess is that there's too many found entries and it gets confused.

Well the reason this whole thread got started....

I bought a character object from Turbosquid. It came in a bunch of different pieces. I looked in the manual about loading objects into layers.... and well in my modeler there is no load object into layer..... ????

I remember using this ages ago in 5 or some ancient number like that.

It did come with a scene file, so I think I can save out the whole object together from Layout.... I seem to remember doing something that a long time ago as well.

Don't know if this is related, but I've had occasions lately where I would download a zip or exe file and saw the file was downloading as "filename.php" (Firefox 2.0.0.1). Since the file size looked correct, I tried renaming the download as a zip or exe, they functioned fine (as a zip or exe.)
