Are there any good online tutorials or good books for beginners of lightwave?

I'm an editor and recently purchased 3D Arsenal for editors which works with Lightwave 7.5. I've been playing around with it and kind of enjoy it.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

By far, the single best resource for beginners is the book "Essential Lightwave 3D," by Albee and Warner. The edition I have was written for Lightwave 8, but it's pretty much applicable to the current release. (When I upgraded to LW8, I also received a "Getting Started Guide" that was an abridged form of the Albee and Warner book--I don't know if it's included with the current version.)

Once you've gotten through the Albee and Warner book, the next step is Dan Ablan's books...the titles are "Inside Lightwave 6," "Inside Lightwave 7," and "Inside Lightwave 8." Each covers different material, so it's worth it to get them all (you might find used copies on Amazon or abebooks.com).

And there's plenty of tutorials available online, as the previous poster noted. In addition to the shaw.ca site, there also kurvstudios.com and splinegod.com (which sell tutes on DVD but also have some free stuff available) and Newtek's own material (http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/tutorials/videos/index.php). Plus many others.

Although not online (or free :)), I found these videos helpful with motion graphics:
