I basically would like to know what version of Windows Vista most people are running right now? Ultimate, Home Premium, or whatever other version are available?

Honestly, I haven't upgraded my Windows 2000. Seems to work fine with LW8, and when I upgrade to LW9, if windows 2000 works well with that, I still won't upgrade my windows.

However.... if you guys ever put out a Linux version, I'd be all over that! I use LW all the time, love it, and also love Linux. Make my dreams come true!

Thx. :)

Well, I’m trying to install LW on Ultimate 64b but it’s not working. The sentinel can’t be installed if you guys are thinking to buy the vista ultimate think again.

I haven't upgraded my Windows 2000 either... I beefed the rest of the PC up and LW8 runs fine with it, though I could not get 9 to install because I kept getting error messages that 'files didn't exist', etc. almost continually and eventually I just gave up. I think the disc is bad, so I've written them to ask about it... If I do get LW9 upgraded, will repost with whether or not it worked with 2K.

I'm delaying a Vista upgrade as long as possible. I'm hopping I'll somehow be able to pass it by all together.

Maybe the question: is there a good reason to upgrade to Vista? is more appropriate. I'd like to know, for one. So far XP works fine for me.

Not if you like running any HD content with your machine.

Exactly!

Don't you people remember how awful XP was until Service pack 2?!?!?
The OS shut down many systems I was working with.

MS needs a year at least of patches, and time for the drivers to be developed by software vendors.

I use Win 2000 at work, XP pro on home systems. Even if Vista turns out to be good (so far only diff is some security upgrades, which I wouldn't trust MS for anyways), it will be at least a year away.

Vista handles this better? (No 2 GB Ram limit maybe?)

The extra memory usage is a 64bit thing, nothing to do with Vista itself. But Vista is crammed up the @#% with copy protection that in most cases completely blocks HD content.

Until this new HDCP gets removed, or a hacker strips it from the OS, I won't be going near it.

Ah, now I get you. I thought you said Vista's better at handling HD content than XP. Oof. I wasn't planning on getting any MS product if I really really don't absolutely need it.

How did you install the sentinel? I've been tried but it doesn’t works.
I already send a e-mal to New Tek last week asking for help and I still get no answer for it.

Ah, now I get you.

My overly sarcastic comments were confusing. My apologies.
