View Full Version : Upgraded to MacTel - Layout Quits

01-30-2007, 12:26 AM
Hoping someone can help. I've just upgraded to a MacTel machine and now Layout will open but crashes when I try to open a model or scene. Modeler works fine and hub is running, just no layout. Can anyone offer a clue to what I need to do.
Thanks in advance.

My first guess would be to check what your OpenGL settings are. GLSL is buggy for me; multitexture works a lot better.

Check the Console.app and see if it has any error messages from LightWave, Layout, Modeler, Hub, etc.

If so, let us know! Also, if you can email me the crash log, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks Phil! I changed the OpenGL to multitexture and indeed it works much better. Thanks again.
BUT... now modeler is acting up. Before my first post, on a test, it seemed fine as reported. But now for instance say I create a box, select an edge and try to edge bevel that...crashes everytime.
Chilton, I'll take you up on the offer to look at the crash log. It's on it way to you now. Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks guy for helping me out!

I have reviewed your crash log, and this does appear to be an OpenGL issue, as Phil accurately surmised. Since this is a crash in v9, I encourage you to sign up for the Open Beta program as soon as possible. The Universal Binary will probably address this, but if it does not, we'll want to know about it!

Thank you,

Thanks for the reply Chilton, and yeah it's the stock card. I'm on my way over to register for the beta. I'll let you knkow soon if it takes care of the problem.
