Hi all!

I thought, I post some request here:
If You have spare time, visit GPU-Tech site (http://www.gputech.com) and hassle them a little about Lightwave plugin. Apparently when enough Lightwavers does that, we can get our plugin b4 XSI peeps.
Unless You don't want Your scenes to be rendered in a fraction of their current render time ;)

Another GPU renderer that might be able to be used is Nvidia's Gelato. Apparently according to their forums if lightwave can export to renderman scenes we should be able to use Gelato rendering. Anyone know if that is possible?

All you need is a GeForce or Quatro (Optimum for Gelato) Nvidia GPU to use it and the best part its free.

Unfortunately only in its basic version and as You mentioned, it requires passing through the Renderman, which is currnetly impossible for LW AFAIK, not mentioning, it requires rerigging/resurfacing Your whole scene.
Another thing is, that Gelagto is purely NVidia's, GPU-Tech's RTS Square uses ANY PS2.0 compliant graphic card. AND, if You are just a hobbyist/want only to evaluate, it is also FREE OF CHARGE.
