Hi, I am a newbie to Lightwave 9, ordered a educational copy about 6 hours ago. Pick it up tomorrow.

I am wondering if my computer specs are up to running lightwave 9 effecently and what would be wise to change. Any advice would be great.

P4 2.8 Ghz with Hyper-Threading
Albatron 7600GS Nvidia GeForce GPU
2 x 512 MB DDR 400 RAM
80 GB Internal (Windows, Games, Programs)
320 GB Internal (Storage, LW Files)
160 GB External (Backup)
Dual View Monitor Setup
Main - 19" Widescreen LCD
Secondary - 17" CRT

Computer Set Up In Dual Boot.
One Windows for Only Lightwave Use (XP Pro SP2)
One Windows for All Other Use (XP Pro SP2)

I final thing, would you recommend using Lightwave on Vista when it comes out.

Thanks, any advice would be great.

Yeah spec looks fine.

If you have the spare cash stick another 1gb of RAM in it but the CPU and GFX look fine.

Im not going to vista until better drivers and more testing is done.

Its up to you thought

if your just new i quess you wont be creating big scenes yet. You could prob get away with what you have for a while.

Up to you...if you have the cash then go for it.
