Hi! It's my first post and I have a question. Are there any material presets for the node editor available? After downloading LW9, I noticed that I maby missed the node preset. Can somebody post a link?

I don't know of any node presets. Admittedly I only got one CD delivered with LW 9, whereas with LW 8, I got a box with 2. a program disk and content disk. so maybe check the LW site for any content downloads.

Thank you for your answer. I am not sure there are any node presets, I just assumed there was.

you can check this thread at spinquad and see what some lightwavers are doing for this:

It'll cost a few quid/dollars/whatever, but there are some excellent presets here:

http://www.shaders.co.uk/ifw2_nodal/index.htm

And it adds extra nodes too!

Good thread, but personally I'd start here (http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showthread.php?p=172527#post172527) rather than at the beginning. :D

Well Matt, I think so too...but I've been trying to wait for Tim and Lee for their go-ahead. 30 seconds ago I tried to speed that up though. :D

Btw, are you using the plugin successfully?

perhaps a LW user run website that people can upload the presets. As site like the cgsphere would be good. You can view node presets and download the files you like.

Just what the team from the above thread had in mind. so Preset Repository (http://www.lededesigns.com/component/option,com_nodes/Itemid,4/) is currently utilizing this...and Preset Central (http://presetcentral.com/) showed initial interest as well, though their current stance on the matter is unknown.

yeah...i read the whole thing about them getting hacked and all.

I havent had a full read of the spinquad thread. I may have a go when i get home later.I think it would be great...im really strugling with the whole node system and tbh im still using the layering system for anything i do.

On another note, im down in London looking for flats on the 13th Feb if you fance a pint or three?

Hey guys...

Really keen to use it and all... we're just finishing off psplant and will try to integrate the model and Jeremy's script. Just need to get permission of whoever designed the standard model :)

Regards, Ben

Heya Ben, I think that permission was given from Tim and Lee in the other thread initially. I'll raise the issue with them again.

Let me know if I can re-work the script to make it 'fit' better with PSPlant. I'll be looking at batch-processing .srf files as soon as 9.2 makes it's release. That way you could just select a folder full of .srf files and have it process them all in one go.

I'm also planning to re-visit my homemade preset panel. If I get it working, it would look just like the normal LW preset panel, only it would show the renders from the generated presets instead of that lovely LW Ball. And a double-click would retreive the preset .srf file and assign it to the currently selected surface.

Ben, the pint with Andrew sounds better. I have skype but I'm never near my computer at any hours that make me want to converse with people. Though I'll add you to the friendlist for the odd occasion that i'm actually near the home computer during waking hours.

But I'd say the API communication is a very real possibility, and a very cool one now that I think about it.
