View Full Version : How to create morphs from multiple models

I have several models made from the same base mesh and want to use them as morph targets for a single model.

How do I most easily go about this?

1) You could put each one in a BG layer in Modeler, then, with the base mesh in a FG layer and one of the morph targets in the BG layer, create an endomorph by using the Background to Morph tool (Map Tab/Morph/Bkg to Morph) Create a name and click OK. Save object.

repeat with all morph targets and give them each a unique name.

You can then use these in Morph Mixer (Layout - Objects Properties/Deform Tab/ Add Displacement/Morph Mixer) to animate them.

2) Create a morph chain with the objects using the Multi Target Single Envelope function in the deform tab above the morph target drop down.

You can have the objects in separate layers, but it is a little more complex to set up than I want to get into here.

There is a great tutoral on it called Animating a Flock of Birds or something like that in the Newtek LW training section.
