Hello. Is there a way to use an image with transparent parts as a texture so that when it's render and I select view alpha, only the opaque parts will be visible?

I'm trying to create an effect of falling feathers and don't want to create separate objects for each one. If you can link to a good tutorial you know of that would be great. Thanks.

Just use a black & white image in the transparency channel.

For falling feathers, try hypervoxels with sprite mode and tell it to use the alpha. Apply that to an emiter.
