If I want to email a client a low resolution sample of video what is the best way?Ö.sometimes I down load video files and they are low in size and play nice.

At the moment I render in VT to Windows Media player at half resolution.

Iíve tried doing it from lightwave but when I select quick time it wonít do it and lightwave 9 does not even have that selection.

Can some please advice me the best method and result please

Thank you very much

Render your animation full res and then resample and recompress it for email after the fact. I use DivX codec for all of my online/email distribution, if I'm working in D1 16x9 I ususally run it through a 2:1 filter and the compress to about 360kbps single pass. If I'm looking for a bit more quality I'll do 3 passes. If the preview is really rough and I'm trying to make it smaller I'll sometimes drop the frame size even smaller and decimate by 2s.

If you're emailing the file as an attachment whatever you do I'ld try and keep the filesize under 1 meg or so. If that absolutely can't work then I'ld just email a link to the file hosted somewhere. But that's just me.
