View Full Version : LW-Trouble rendering with normal maps

Heres an object rendered in 3ds max with a normal map:

And heres the same object same normal map rendered in lightwave. It's giving seams and x patterns on the polys. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Is this a normal map or a displacement map?
Also what kind of subpatches are you using?

its a normal map, and its just a polygonal sphere with smoothing applied.

Anybody else having troubels with normal maps? any ideas?

How are you generating the normal maps? In Zbrush? I've not had any problems in LW9 using normal maps. Have you turned off mipmap?
